ఈ మంత్రంలో ఓం, త్ర్యంబకం, యజామహే, సుగంధిం, పుష్టివర్థనం, ఉర్వారుకం, మృతోర్ముక్షీయ, అమృతాత్ …ఈ పదాలకు యెంత అద్భుతమైన , అమృతతుల్యమైన భావం ఉందో, శ్రీ ఆంజనేయ స్వామి వారు మృత్యుంజయులు ఎలా అయ్యారో తెలుసుకుందామా

మహా మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రంను “మరణం జయించే మంత్రం” లేదా “త్రయంబక మంత్రం” అని అంటారు. మహా మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రం రోగాలను నయం చేయుటలో అత్యంత శక్తివంతమైన మంత్రాలలో ఒకటిగా భావిస్తారు. మహా మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రం శివునికి అంకితం చేయబడింది. ఋషి మార్కండేయుల వారి ద్వారా సృష్టించబడిందని చెబుతారు. ఋషి మార్కండేయనిచే వ్యవహరించబడే ఒక రహస్య మంత్రంగా ఉంది. ఒకసారి చంద్రుడు దక్షరాజుతో నిందించబడి ప్రకాశం కోల్పోయెను. అప్పుడు మార్కండేయడు ఈ మంత్రాన్ని ఇచ్చి కాపాడెను.

” ఓం త్రయంబకం యజామహే సుగంధిం పుష్టి వర్ధనం

ఉర్వారుకమివ బంధనాన్ మృత్యోర్ ముక్షీయ మామృతాత్ “

ప్రతి పదార్ధం:

ఓం = ఓంకారము, శ్లోకమునకు గాని, మంత్రము నాకు గాని ముందు పలికే ప్రణవ నాదము; త్రయంబకం = మూడు కన్నులు గలవాడు; యజామహే = పూజించు చున్నాము; సుగంధిం = సుగంధ భరితుడు; పుష్టి = పోషణ నిచ్చి పెరుగుదలకు తోడ్పడు శక్తి ; వర్ధనం = అధికము / పెరుగునట్లు చేయువాడు / పెంపొందించు వాడు; ఉర్వారుకం = దోస పండు; ఇవ = వలె; బంధనాత్ = బంధమును తొలగించు; మృత్యోర్ = మృత్యువు నుండి; అమృతాత్ = అమృతత్వము కొరకు / అమరత్వము కొరకు; మాం = నన్ను; ముక్షీయ = విడిపించు.

తాత్పర్యం: అందరికి శక్తి నొసగే ముక్కంటి దేవుడు, సుగంధ భరితుడు అయిన పరమ శివుని నేను (మేము) పూజించు చున్నాము. ఆయన దోస పండును తొడిమ నుండి వేరు చేసినటుల (అంత సునాయాసముగా లేక తేలికగా) నన్ను (మమ్ము) అమరత్వము కొరకు మృత్యు బంధనము నుండి విడిపించు గాక!

ప్రాశస్త్యము: మనకు ఉన్న, తెలిసిన మంత్రాలలో గాయత్రి మంత్రం వలె ఈ “మహా మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రం” పరమ పవిత్రమైనది, అతి ప్రాచుర్యమైనది. క్షీర సాగర మథనంలో జనించిన హాలాహలాన్ని రుద్రుడు లేదా పరమ శివుడు దిగమింగి మృత్యుంజయుడు అయ్యాడు. ఈ మంత్రం జపించిన వారు కూడా ఆ రుద్రుని ఆశీస్సులు పొంది మృత్యుంజయులగుదురు అని పలువురి నమ్మకం. ఇది ఒక విధమైన మృత-సంజీవని మంత్రం అని చెప్ప వచ్చు. అంతేకాక ఆపదలు కలిగినపుడు కూడా దీనిని చదువుకో వచ్చును. సాధారణంగా ముమ్మారు గాని, తొమ్మిది మార్లు గాని, లేదా త్రిగుణమైన సంఖ్య లెక్ఖన దీనిని పారాయణం చేస్తారు.

ఈ మహా మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రాన్ని జపించడం వల్ల, దైవ ప్రకంపనలు మొదలై, మనలను ఆవరించి ఉన్న దుష్టశక్తులను తరిమికొడతాయి. తద్వారా మంత్రాన్ని పఠించినవారికి ఓ శక్తివంతమైన రక్షణ కవచం ఏర్పడుతుంది. ప్రమాదాల బారిన పడకుండా ఉండేందుకు, దురదృష్టాల నుంచి బయటపడేందుకు, మహా మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రాన్ని పఠిస్తుంటారు. ఈ మంత్రానికి సర్వరోగాలను తగ్గించే శక్తి ఉంది.

ఈ మహామృత్యుంజయ మంత్రానికి మార్కండేయ మంత్రం అనే పేరు కూడా ఉంది. మార్కండేయుడు ఈ మంత్రమును పఠించి, మృత్యువు నుంచి బయటపడ్డాడని ప్రతీతి. ఇంకా పరమశివుని రుద్రస్వభావాన్ని సూచిస్తూ ఈ మంత్రం రుద్రమంత్రమని, ఆ స్వామి మూడు కన్నులను సూచిస్తూ మృతసంజీవనీ మంత్రమని పిలువబడుతోంది.

ఈ మంత్రాన్ని త్ర్యంబక మంత్రమనడంలో కూడా ఎంతో గూఢార్థం ఉంది. శివతత్వంలో “మూడు” కు ఎంతో ప్రాధాన్యం ఉంది. ఆ స్వామి త్రినేత్రుడు, త్రిగుణాకారుడు, త్రి ఆయుధుడు, త్రిదళాలతో కూడిన బిల్వాలను ఇష్టపడేవాడు, మూడు అడ్డురేఖలను నామంగా కలిగినవాడు, త్రిజన్మ పాప సంహారుడు, త్రిశూలధారుడు, త్రికాలధిపతి, త్రిలోకరక్షకుడు, మరి ఆస్వామి మంత్రాన్ని జపించితే మనకు రక్షణ లభించకుండా ఉంటుందా? అందులో సందేహమేముంది. ఈ మహామృత్యుంజయ మంత్రాన్ని ప్రాత: కాలన్నే 108 సార్లు, ప్రదోషకాలంలో 108 సార్లు పఠిస్తే ఎటువంటి రోగాలు దరిచేరవు. ఈ మంత్రం యొక్క గూఢార్థాన్ని తెలుసుకున్నప్పుడు మనకు అపరిమితానందం కలుగుతుంది.

ఓం: భగవంతుడు ప్రప్రథమంగా సూక్ష్మ జ్యోతిగా వెలుగొంది, అనంతరం చెవులకు వినబడేట్లుగా ఓ నాదం వినబడిందనీ, ఆ నాదమే ప్రణవ నాదమని, అదే ఓంకారమని చెప్పబడింది. ఇదొక శక్తి స్వరూప ధ్వని. అ-ఉ-మల సంగమమమే ఓంకారం. ఋగ్వేదం నుండి ‘ అ ‘ కారం. యజుర్వేదం నుండి ‘ ఉ ‘ కారం, సామవేదం నుండి ‘ మ ‘ కారాలు పుట్టి,ఆ మూడింటి సంగమంతో ‘ ఓంకారం ‘ ఉద్భవించింది. ఓంకారానికి మూలం నాదం. ఆ నాదం భగవద్రూపం. ఓంకారం ప్రార్థనగా మనకు ఉపకరిస్తుటుంది. అందుకే ప్రతి మంత్రం ఓంకారంతో ప్రారంభమై ఓంకారంతోనే ముగుస్తుంటుంది. నామం శబ్ద ప్రతీక. సర్వ శబ్దాలను తనలో నిమగ్నం చేసుకునే శబ్దాక్షరం ఓంకారం. కాబట్టి ప్రతి మంత్రానికి ఓంకారం ముందుండి, ఆ మంత్రానికి శుభాన్ని, మంగళాన్ని చేకూర్చుతుంది. అందుకే దేహద్వారాలైన ఇంద్రియాలన్నిటినీ నిగ్రహించి, మనస్సును స్థిరపరచుకుని, యోగధారణ బలంతో ప్రాణశక్తిని సహస్రారంలో నిలిపి, పరబ్రహ్మ స్వరూపమైన ప్రణవాన్ని ఉచ్ఛరిస్తూ పరమాత్మను స్మరించాలి.

త్ర్యంబకం: భూత, భవిష్యత్, వర్తమానాలకు శివుని మూడవ నేత్రం ప్రతిరూపం. ఇంద్ర, అగ్ని, సామతత్వాలను కలిగి ఉన్నందున శివుడు త్రినేత్రుడనబడుతున్నాడు. త్ర్యంబక మంటే మూడు నేత్రాలని అర్థం. శివుని భ్రూమధ్యంలో నున్న సూక్ష్మరూప నేత్రం మూడవ నేత్రం. ఇది అతీంద్రియ శక్తికి మహాపీఠం. దీనినే జ్యోతిర్మఠం అని అంటారు. శివుని మూడవ నేత్రానికి దాహకశక్తి, సంజీవన శక్తి రెండూ ఉన్నాయి. ఆ స్వామి తన ప్రసన్నవదనంతో, చల్లని చూపులతో మనలను సదా రక్షిస్తున్నాడు. అందుకే ఆ స్వామిని త్యంబకం అని కీర్తిస్తున్నాం.

యజామహే: అంటే ద్యానిస్తున్నానని అర్థం. అంతేగా మరి. సర్వవేళలా మనకు రక్షగా ఉన్న స్వామిని మనస్ఫూర్తిగా ధ్యానించాలి. ఒకప్పుడు సముద్ర మథనం జరిగింది. అకస్మాత్తుగా సెగలు కక్కుతూ హాలాహలం పైకి వచ్చింది. ఆ విష్పు ప్రచండ జ్వాలలకు సమస్తలోకాలు తల్లడిల్లిపోయాయి. సర్వత్రా ఆర్తనాదాలు…హాహాకారాలు. సమస్తలోకజనం ఆ స్వామిని ధ్యానించగా, ఆ దృశ్యాన్ని చూసి క్రుంగిపోయిన స్వామీ, హాలాహలన్ని తన కంఠంలో నిలుపుకుని నీలకంఠుడై సమస్తలోకాలను కాపాడాడు. ఆ స్వామిని ప్రార్థిద్దాం.

సుగంధిం: సు-మంచిదైన, గంధ – సువాసన ద్రవ్యం. ఆ స్వామి మనపై మంచి సువాసనలతో కూడుకున్న గంధం నలుదిశలా పరిమళాలను వెదజల్లినట్లు మనలను తన భక్త జన వాత్సల్యమనే సుగంధాన్ని ఇచ్చి పెంచుతున్నాడు. ఆయనకు తన పిల్లలమైన మన పట్ల అలవికానంత ప్రేమ, వాత్సల్యం, ఆయన ఎంత భక్తజన ప్రియుడంటే, ఆ స్వామిని పూజించడానికి మందిరం కావాలని ఆడగడు. చెట్టుకింద, గట్టుమీద ఎక్కడైనా ఆయన లింగరూపాన్ని పెట్టుకుని పూజించవచ్చు. ఆయనకు నైవేద్యం కూడా అవసరం లేదు. ఒక బిల్వపత్రం, ఒక కొబ్బరికాయ, జలాభిషేకం చేసినా స్వామి సంతోషించి మన కోరికలను నెరవెరుస్తాడు.

పుష్టివర్థనం : మనం పుష్టిగా ఉండేట్లు సాకుతున్న ఆ స్వామి సర్వత్రా నెలకొని ఉన్నాడు. సృష్టియావత్తు ఆయన ఆధీనంలో ఉంది. ఆయన మనలను తప్పక కాపాడుతాడు. ఇందుకు గుహుని కథే ఒక ఉదాహరణ. గుహుడనే వేటగాడు ఒకరోజున ఏదైనా జంతువును వేటాడాలని వెదికి వెదికి విసిగి పోయాడు. చీకటి పడుతున్నా అతని కంట ఒక జంతువు కూడ కనబడలేదు. ఈలోపు ఎక్కడి నుంచో ఒక పులి వచ్చి అతడిని వెంబడించసాగింది. దాని బారి నుంచి తప్పుకోవడానికై వేటగాడు పరుగులు పెడుతూ ఒక చెట్టుపైకి ఎక్కాడు. అయినా ఆ పులి అతడిని వదల్లేదు. చెట్టుకిందే ఉన్న పులి గుహుడు ఎప్పుడు దిగి వస్తాడా అని కాపుకాయసాగింది. గుహుడు ఎక్కిన చెట్టు ఒక మారేడు చెట్టు. ఏమీ తోచక ఒక్కొక్క మారేడు దళాన్ని కిందికి తుంపి విసిరేయసాగాడు. ఆ దళాలు చెట్టు మొదట్లో నున్న శివలింగంపై పడసాగాయి. ఆరోజు శివరాత్రి కూడా. పులిభయంతో వేటగాడు, వేటగానిని తినాలన్న కాంక్షతో పులి, జాగరణ చేయడంతో, శంకరుడు రెండు జీవాలకు మోక్షాన్ని ప్రసాదించాడు. అందుకే సర్వ వ్యాపకుడైన ఆ స్వామి మనలను కంటికి రెప్పలా కాపాడుతుంటాడు.

ఉర్వారుకం – ఇవ – బంధనం : దోసకాయ పక్వానికి వచ్చినపుడు, దానికి తొడిమ నుంచి విముక్తి లభించినట్లుగానే ఆ స్వామి మనలను అన్ని సమస్యల నుంచి గట్టెక్కించుతాడు.

మృతోర్ముక్షీయ: అలా సమస్యల నుంచి గట్టెక్కించే స్వామిని, మనలను మృత్యువు నుంచి కూడ రక్షణ కల్పించమని కోరుకుంటున్నాం. మృత్యువు అంటే భౌతికపరమైన మరణం మాత్రమేకాదు. ఆధ్యాత్మికపరంగా చేతనం లేకుండా ఉండటం కూడా మృత్యు సమానమే. భక్తి ప్రవత్తులు లేని జీవనం కూడా నిర్జీవమే. ప్రకృతిలో అందాన్ని ఆస్వాదించలేక అంతా వికారంగా ఉందనుకునేవారికి, అంతా వికారంగానే కనబడుతుంది. ప్రతి విషయానికి సందేహపడే సదేహప్రాణికి అంతా అనుమానమయంగానే ఉంటుంది. ఇటువంటివన్నీ చావువంటివే. ఇలా మనలను అన్నిరకాల మరణాల నుంచి విముక్తులను చేసి, మన జీవితాలను సంతోషమయం చేయమని స్వామిని ప్రార్థిస్తున్నాం మనం.

అమృతాత్ : స్వామి అల్ప సంతోషి, సులభప్రసన్నుడు. అందుకే శ్రీనాథమహాకవి ఆయనను ఈ క్రింది విధంగా స్తుతించాడు.

శివుని శిరమున కాసిన్ని నీళ్ళు జల్లి

పత్తిరిసుమంత నెవ్వడు పార వైచు

కామధేను వతడింట గాడి పసర

మల్ల సురశాఖి వానింట మల్లె చెట్టు

శివలింగంపై కాసిని నీళ్ళు చల్లి, మారేడు పత్రిని లింగంపై విసిరేసినప్పటికీ, ఆ భక్తుని ఇంట కామధేనువు ఇంటి పశువుగా మారుతుంది. కల్ప తరువు ఆ భక్తుని ఇంట మల్లెచెట్టుగా ఉంటుంది. అంతటి దయామయుడు పరమశివుడు.

మనకున్న చిరంజీవులలో ఆంజనేయస్వామి ఒకరని మనకు తెలుసు. అయితే ఆ ఆంజనేయునికి చిరంజీవత్వాన్ని ప్రసాదించింది శివుడే. ఆ కథ ప్రకారం, రావణ వథానంతరం అయోధ్యకు చేరుకున్న రామచంద్రుడు ప్రజారంజకంగా పరిపాలన గావిస్తున్నాడు. ఒకరోజు అగస్త్యమహర్షి తదితరులు శ్రీరామచంద్ర మూర్తిని దర్శించుకుని హనుమంతుని ప్రశంసించ సాగారు. అప్పుడు శ్రీరాముడు, మహావీరుడైన లక్ష్మణుని ప్రశంసింపక, ఎందుకు హనుమంతుని పొగుడుతున్నారని అడిగాడు. అప్పుడు అగస్త్యాది మునులు, హనుమంతుడు రుద్రాంశ సంభూతుడని, హనుమంతునితో సరితూగగల బలపరాక్రమ వంతులు ఎవరూ లేరని, అతని బలం గురించి అతనికి తెలియకపోవడమే శాపమని, అందుచేతనే అతడు వాలిని సంహరించలేకపోయాడని చెప్పారు. అలాగే నూరు యోజనాలు దాటి లంకను చేరడం, అతి చిన్న రూపాన్ని ధరించడం, సీతమ్మవారిని దర్శించడం, లంకాదహనం వంటివన్నీ సామాన్యులు చేయలేరని చెప్పారు. అదేవిధంగా బాల హనుమ, సూర్యుని చూసి ఎగిరి వెళ్ళి, ఇంద్రుని వజ్రాయుధ ఘాతానికి గురై భూమిపై పెడతాడు. అప్పుడు ఆంజనేయుని తండ్రి వాయుదేవుడు కుమారుని ఉజ్జయినికి తీసుకెళ్ళి శివార్చన చేసి, శివుని కరుణతో బాల ఆంజనేయుడు చిరంజీవిగా ఉండేట్లు వరాన్ని పొందాడు. ఇప్పటికీ మనం ఉజ్జయినిలో ఆంజనేయునికి చిరంజీవత్వాన్ని అనుగ్రహించిన హనుమత్కేశ్వర లింగాన్ని చూడగలం. ఈ విధంగా స్వామి తన భక్తులను మృత్యువు నుంచి కాపాడి, ఆయురారోగ్యాలతో కూడిన జీవితాన్ని ప్రసాదిస్తాడు.

ఈ మృత్యుంజయ మంతాన్ని శ్రద్ధతో పఠిస్తే, అకాలమృత్యువులు, ప్రమాదాల నుంచి రక్షణ లభిస్తుంది. ఇంత మహిమాన్వితమైన మహామృత్యుంజయ మంత్రాన్ని జపించడం వల్ల, దైవిక ప్రకంపనలు మన చుట్టూ ఆవరించి, సమస్త దుష్ట శక్తులు మన దరికి చేరకుండా కాపాడబడతాము. మృత్యుర్యస్వాప సేచనం అని శ్రుతులు చెబుతున్నాయి. అంటే మృత్యువు శివునికి ఊరగాయ వంటిదని అర్థం. మృత్యువును జయించాలనుకునే వ్యక్తులు పరమశివుని రక్షణకోరితే సరిపోతుందని ఋగ్వేదం అంటున్నది. తనను ఆశ్రయించేవారి యొక్క మృత్యువును నివారించేవాడు కాబట్టి శివుడు మృత్యుంజయుడు అని కూడ పిలువబడుతున్నాడు. ఎవరైతే పుణ్యభీతితో శివుని ఉపాసిస్తారో, వారికి ఆ జన్మలోనే కర్మసంచయాన్ని (ఆగామితో సహా) పటాపంచలు చేసే శక్తిని శివుడు ప్రసాదిస్తాడు. అందుకు మృత్యుంజయ మంత్రాన్ని శ్రద్ధగా పఠించి ఆయురారోగ్యాలను పొందుదాం.

Triambakam: Lord Shiva's third eye is the reflection of past, future, present. As Indra, Agni, equality is possessed, Lord Shiva is called Trinetra. Triambaka means three eyes. The third eye is the subtle eye in the middle of Shiva's earth. This is the great level of supernatural power. This is called Jyotirmatham. Lord Shiva's third eye has both thirst power and life power. That swami is always protecting us with his happy and cool eyes. That is why we are praising that swamy as Tyambakam.

Yajamahe: That means I am paying attention. That's it right. We should meditate wholeheartedly on the Lord who is always our protector. Once upon a time there was a sea heading. Suddenly, the rumor came up. The whole world has gone down due to the huge flames of the world. Worship all over... havoc. The tree that climbed the cave is a Maredu tree. Without thinking anything, every Maredu has thrown the army down. Those forces have fallen on the Shivalinga which was in the beginning of the tree. Those who worship Lord Shiva with the fear of virtue, Lord Shiva will give them the power to perform Karma Sanchayam (including Agami) in that birth itself.
