కర్మ ఫలితము.....

ధర్మరాజు భీష్ముడితో "పితామహా.. మీరు నాకు ఎన్నో ఉపదేశించారు. కాని నా మనసుకు కొంచెం కూడా శాంతి కలుగ లేదు. పట్టుబట్టి ఎంతో మందిని బంధువులను యుద్ధములో వధించాను. మిమ్ము అతి దారుణంగా శరతల్పగతుడిని చేసాను. ఇంత చేసిన నాకు మనశ్శాంతి ఎలా కలుగుతుంది. పితామహా.. నేను దుర్యోధనుడుని రాజ్యం ఇద్దరము పంచుకుని పరిపాలిద్దాము అని ప్రాధేయపడ్డాను. అతడు అందుకు సమ్మతించ లేదు.

నేను మాత్రం పోతే పోనీలే అతడికే రాజ్యాన్ని వదిలి వేద్దాము అని అనుకున్నానా.. అలా ఉండక కోపంతో రగిలి పోయి పట్టుదలలకు పోయి యుద్ధం చేసాను ఫలితం సర్వనాశనం అయింది. ఈ నాడు పశ్చాత్తాపపడి ప్రయోజనమేమి.. ఇక నాకు దుఃఖం తప్ప శాంతి ఎలా కలుగుతుంది" అని బాధపడ్డాడు. అప్పుడు భీష్ముడు ఊరడింపుగా "ధర్మనందనా.. చింతించకుము అంతా దైవ నిర్ణయమే. దానిని తప్పించుట మనచేతిలో లేదు. 

దీనికి ఒక కథ చెప్తాను విను... ఒక ఊరిలో గౌతమి అను బ్రాహ్మణ వనిత ఉండేది. ఆమెకు ఒక కొడుకు ఉన్నాడు. అతడు ఒక రోజు పాము కరిచి చనిపోయాడు. అది చూసి ఆమె దుఃఖించ సాగింది. అంతలో అది చూసిన బోయవాడు ఆ కుర్రాడిని కరిచిన పామును పట్టి తెచ్చి "అమ్మా.. ఇదిగో నీ కుమారుడిని కరిచిన పామును పట్టి తెచ్చాను. దీనిని ఏమి చెయ్యమటావో చెప్పు. తలపగులకొట్టి చంపమంటావా.. లేక నిలువునా చీల్చి చంపమంటావా.. నీవు ఎలా చెప్తే అలా చేస్తాను" అన్నాడు.

గౌతమి.. "అన్నా.. ఈ పామును విడిచి పెట్టు" అన్నది. బోయవాడు "అమ్మా.. ఇది నీ కుమారుని చంపింది కదా.." అన్నాడు. గౌతమి.. "అన్నా.. విధి ప్రకారం ఈ ఆపద వచ్చింది. నా కుమారుడు చనిపోయాడు. అందుకు దుఃఖించడము సహజమే అయినా.. దానికి కారకులు అయిన వారిని చంపడం అధములు చేసే పని. ఉత్తములు, ధర్మ పరులు ఆ పని చెయ్యరు. జరిగిన ఆపదను వెంటనే మరచి పోతారు. అన్నా.. నీవు ఆ పామును చంపినంత మాత్రాన నా కుమారుడు బ్రతుకుతాడా.. దానిని విడిచి పెట్టు" అన్నది.

బోయవాడు.. "అమ్మా.. నీ మాటలు నాలాంటి వాడికి అర్ధము కావు. చంపిన వాడిని చంపడమే నాకు తెలిసిన ధర్మము. కనుక ఈ పామును చంపుతాను" అని అన్నాడు. గౌతమి.. "అన్నా.. నీ పేరు అర్జునుకుడు. అంటే తెల్లని వాడివి, స్వచ్ఛమైన వాడివి, అమాయకుడివి నీవు ఇలా ప్రవర్తించ కూడదు. అయినా నేను హింసను ఎలా సహిస్తాను" అన్నది. బోయవాడు.. "అమ్మా.. నా మాట విను జనులను బాధించే వారిని చంపడమే ధర్మము దాని వలన పాపము రాదు" అన్నాడు. గౌతమి.. "తాను బంధించిన వాడు శత్రువైనా అతడిని చంపడము అధర్మము కదా.." అన్నది. "అమ్మా.. ఈ పామును చంపి ఈ పాము వలన బాధించబడు వారిని రక్షించడం ధర్మము కాదా.. వృత్తాసురుడిని దేవేంద్రుడు చంపలేదా.. అది ధర్మము అయినప్పుడు. ఇది మాత్రము ఎందుకు ధర్మము కాదు. కనుక ఈ పామును చంపుటకు అంగీకరించు" అన్నాడు..

అప్పుడు అక్కడ వీళ్ళ సంభాషణ మౌనంగా వింటున్న పాము బోయవానితో "అన్నా.. ఇందులో నా తప్పు ఏమీ లేదు. మృత్యుదేవత నన్ను ఆవహించింది. నేను ఆ బాలుడిని కరిచి చంపాను. అంతే కాని నాకు ఆ బాలుడి మీద కోపము కాని ద్వేషము కాని లేదు" అని పలికింది పాము. బోయ వాడు "మరీ మంచిది మృత్యుదేవతకు ఆయుధమైన నీన్ను చంపడం తప్పు కాదు" అని పామును చంపబోయాడు.

అప్పుడు పాము.. "అయ్యా.. కుమ్మరి వాడు కుండలు చేసే సమయంలో కుండ పగిలితే తిరిగే సారెదా.. కుమ్మరి వాడిదా తప్పు. అయ్యా నరులు కనపడితే నన్నే చంపుతారు కదా.. అటువంటి నాకు ఇతరులను చంపే శక్తి నాకు ఏది" అన్నది. బోయవాడు "బాగా చెప్పావు సర్పమా.. ఎదుటి వాడు బాణం వేసినప్పుడు బాణము వేసిన వాడిది తప్పా బాణాది తప్పా అని ఆలోచిస్తూ ఊరుకుంటామా..

వేగంగా వస్తున్న బాణాన్ని వేరొక బాణంతో మధ్యలోనే తుంచమా.. అందులో పాపము ఏముంది. అయినా ఎవరో చెప్పారని వచ్చి బాలుని కరిచి ప్రాణములు హరించిన నిన్నే కాదు మృత్యుదేవత చేతి ఆయుధాలైన నీలాంటి పాములన్నింటినీ చంపాలి" అన్నాడు. అందుకు పాము నవ్వి.. "అన్నా యజ్ఞములు, యాగములు, యజమాని ఆజ్ఞ మేరకు పురోహితులు చేయించినా యజ్ఞఫలితము యజమానికి చెందుతుంది. కనుక ఈ బాలుడిని చంపిన పాపము మృత్యుదేవతే కాని నాది కాదు" అన్నది.

అప్పుడు అంతలో.. మృత్యుదేవత అక్కడకు వచ్చి పాముని చూసి "సర్పరాజమా.. నీవు ఏ పాపము చేయలేదు. నేను నీకు చెప్పినట్లే యముడు నాకు చెప్పాడు. నేను యముని ఆజ్ఞను పాటించినట్లే నీవు నా ఆజ్ఞను పాటించావు కనుక ఇందులో నా పాపము, నీ పాపము ఏమీ లేదు. సూర్యుడు, చంద్రుడు, అగ్ని, ఆకాశము, జలము, గాలి, ఈ ప్రకృతి అన్నీ యముని చేతిలో ఉన్నాయి" అని మృత్యుదేవత పలికింది.

పాము.. "నువ్వు చెప్పినది నేను చేస్తే అది నా తప్పు అని అంటున్నారు. నీవు పంపావని నేను చెప్పాను. ఇది యముని తప్పా, నీ తప్పా అని చెప్పడానికి నేను ఎవరిని అని బోయవాడితో.. "అన్నా.. మృత్యు దేవత మాట విన్నావు కదా.. నువ్వు నా తప్పు అంటున్నావు. ఈ తప్పు నాకు అంటగట్టడం ధర్మమా.. " అన్నది. బోయవాడు నవ్వి.. "నువ్వూ మృత్యువు ఇద్దరూ పాపాత్ములే నాకు మీ ఇద్దరిలో ఎవరిని చూసినా భయము లేదు" అన్నాడు.

ఇంతలో యమధర్మరాజు అక్కడకు వచ్చి.. "మీకు కలిగిన ధర్మసందేహం తీర్చడానికై నేను వచ్చాను. అసలు ఈ బాలుడి మరణానికి కారణం ఇతడి కర్మ ఫలమే కాని వేరు కాదు. నేను కాని, పాము కాని, మృత్యుదేవత కాని కాదు. మనిషి చేసుకున్న కర్మల ఫలితంగానే పుట్టుకు, మరణము, సుఖము దుఃఖము కలుగుతాయి. వాటిని ఎవరూ తప్పించుకో లేరు. ఏ జీవికైనా కర్మఫలం అనుభవించక తప్పదు. కనుక ఎవరిని నిందించ వలసిన అవసరము లేదు" అన్నాడు.

అప్పుడు గౌతమి తాను చెప్పిన మాటలే యమధర్మరాజు చెప్పడం చూసి.. "అన్నా .. యమధర్మరాజు చెప్పినది విన్నావు కదా.. నాకు పుత్ర శోకం కలగాలని ఉంది కనుక అనుభవిస్తున్నాను. ఇది వెనుక జన్మలో నేను చేసిన కర్మల ఫలితము. దీనికి ఎవరిని నిందించిన ఫలితమేమి.. కనుక ఆ పామును విడిచి పెట్టు" అన్నది. ఇందరి మాట విన్న బోయవాడ జ్ఞానోదయము పొంది ఆ పామును విడిచి పెట్టాడు. కనుక ధర్మనందనా.. యుద్ధంలో నీ బంధువులు మరణానికి కారణం నీవు కాదు. వారి వారి దుష్కర్మలకు కలిగిన ఫలితమే. నీవు వారి మరణానికి దుఃఖించడం వృధా.. " అని చెప్పారు భీష్ము పితామహాలు...

How can I get peace of mind after doing so much. Father.. I am Duryodhana, I prayed that we will divide the kingdom and rule it. He didn't agree to that.

I thought we would leave the kingdom for him if I was gone.. I was angry and persecuted and fought a war and the result was ruined. What's the point of repenting today.. How can I find peace except sorrow.. He suffered. Then Bheeshma's pickle ′′ Dharmanandana.. Don't worry, everything is a divine decision. It's not in our hands to escape it.

I will tell a story to this, listen... In a village there was a Brahmin woman named Gautami. She has a son. He died one day by a snake bite. She went on to grieve watching that. The boy who saw that in the end brought the snake that bitten the boy and said ′′ Mother.. Here I brought the snake that bitten your son. Tell me what you won't do with this. Do you want to kill me by slapping my head.. Or do you want to tear the vertical to death.. I will do that how you say.. he said.

Gautami.. ′′ Anna.. leave this snake ′′ said. Boyavadu said ′′ Mom.. This killed your son right.." Gauthami.. ′′ Anna.. As per the fate, this danger has come. My son has passed away. Though it is natural to grieve for that.. Killing those who are the reason for it is the work of doing bad things. Good people and righteous people will not do that work. They will immediately forget the danger that happened. Brother.. Will my son live only if you kill that snake.. Leave it ′′

Then in that time.. Death goddess came there and saw the snake ′′ Sarparajama.. You have not committed any sin. Yama told me like I told you. You obeyed my commandments just as I obeyed the commandments of Yama, so there is no sin of mine and your sin in this. Sun, moon, fire, sky, water, air, all this nature are in the hands of Yama the dead goddess said.

Snake.. ′′ If I do what you say it's my fault. I said you sent it. Who am I to tell if this is Yamuni's mistake or your fault.. ′′ Anna.. You have heard the words of the death goddess right.. You are saying that it is my mistake. Is it a dharma to stick this mistake to me.. ′′ said. The boy smiled and said.. ′′ You and death both are sins, I am not afraid of any of you..

Then Gautami, after seeing Yamadharma Raju saying the words he said.. ′′ Anna.. You have heard what Yamadharma Raju said right.. I am feeling it because I want to have a son's grief. This is the result of my karma in my previous life. What is the result of blaming anyone for this.. So she said ′′ leave that snake ′′ Boyavada who listened to these people got enlightenment and left that snake. So Dharmanandana.. You are not the reason for the death of your relatives in the war. This is the result of their own wickedness. It is waste to mourn for their death.. says Bhishmu Pithamahalu...
