🌸 అష్టాదశ శక్తిపీఠాల్లో ఒకటిగా వెలుగొందుతున్న కామాక్షి దేవీ ఆలయం తమిళనాడులోని కాంచీపురంలో కొలువై ఉంది. కంచిలోని శక్తిపీఠాన్ని నాభిస్థాన శక్తిపీఠం అంటారు. ‘క‘ అంటే సరస్వతి రూపం.. ‘మా’ అనేది లక్ష్మీదేవి రూపం.. ‘అక్షి’ అంటే కన్ను అని అర్థం. దీని పూర్తి అర్థం కంచిలో అమ్మవారు.. సరస్వతి లక్ష్మిగా రెండు కన్నులుగా నివసిస్తున్నది అని ప్రతీతి. ఈ దేవి అనుగ్రహాన్ని పొందాలంటే లలితాసహస్రనామ జపం జరపడమే అనువైన మార్గం. దేవి కంచిలో మట్టితో చేసిన శివుని విగ్రహానికి పూజ చేసేదని అప్పుడు శివుడు పెద్ద అలలతో కంబనది రూపంలో వచ్చాడట. దేవిని పరీక్షించేందుకు అలల ఉద్ధృతిని పెంచగా ఆ దేవి తన రెండు చేతులలో విగ్రహాన్ని ఉంచుకుని అలల నుంచి కాపాడిందని ఇక్కడి స్థల పురాణం. దేవి సూదిమొనపై కూర్చొని పంచాగ్నుల మధ్య నిలబడి శివుడిని పూజించగా దానికి సంతసించి ఆమె ఎదుట ప్రత్యక్షమై వివాహమాడినట్లు ప్రతీతి.

🌸 కామాక్షి దేవి ఆలయాన్ని గాయత్రీ మండపంగా పిలుస్తారు. ఇక్కడ అమ్మవారు శ్రీకామాక్షి, శ్రీబిలహాసం, శ్రీచక్రం అనే మూడు రూపాలలో దర్శనమిస్తారు. ఆలయంలోని అమ్మవారి విగ్రహం పద్మాసనంపై కూర్చొనట్లు మలిచారు. దేవి తన చేతులతో పాశం, అంకుశం, పుష్పబాణం, చెరకుగడలతో దర్శనమిస్తుంది. ఈ రూపంలో ఉన్న అమ్మవారిని దర్శనం చేసుకుంటే శాంతి, సౌభాగ్యాలు లభిస్తాయని భక్తుల నమ్మకం.

🌸 ఇక్కడి అమ్మవారు చాలా ఉగ్రరూపంలో బలి కోరుతుండటంతో.. ఆదిశంకరాచార్యులు అమ్మవారి ఉగ్రత తగ్గించేందుకు శ్రీచక్రాన్ని ప్రతిష్ఠించారని చెబుతారు. ఇక్కడ ఆ శ్రీచక్రానికి పూజలు జరుగుతాయి. అమ్మవారిని ఈ దేవాలయ ప్రాంగణం వీడి వెళ్లొద్దని ఆదిశంకరాచార్యులు అభ్యర్థించిన కారణంగా ఉత్సవ కామాక్షి ప్రాంగణంలోనే ఉన్న ఆయన అనుమతి తీసుకుని ఉత్సవాలకు దేవాలయ ప్రాంగణం నుంచి బయటకు వస్తుందని మరో కథ ప్రాచుర్యంలో ఉంది. ఈ కోవెల ప్రాంగణం చాలా విశాలంగా ప్రశాంత వాతావరణంలో నెలకొని ఉంది. ఇక్కడ ప్రతిరోజూ ప్రాతఃకాలంలో శ్రీకామాక్షి దేవి ఉత్సవమూర్తిని మేలుకొలిపి నైవేద్యం సమర్పించి హారతి ఇచ్చి ఉత్సవమూర్తిని పల్లకిలో ప్రదక్షిణగా ఆలయంలోకి తీసుకుని వస్తారు. ఆ తర్వాత అమ్మవారి ఎదురుగా గోపూజ చేస్తారు. అనంతరం అమ్మవారి ద్వారానికి ఉన్న తెర తొలగించి హారతి ఇస్తారు. ఆ సమయంలో భక్తులు అమ్మవారి విశ్వరూప దర్శనం చేసుకోవచ్చు.

🌸 కామాక్షీదేవి ఇక్కడ ఐదు రూపాల్లో కొలువై ఉన్నారు. గాయత్రీ మంటపంలో కొలువై ఉన్న అమ్మవారిని మూలదేవతగా పరిగణిస్తారు. ఈ మండపంలో నాలుగు గోడలను నాలుగా వేదాలుగా, 24స్తంభాలను గాయత్రీ మంత్రంలోని 24 అక్షరాలుగా భావిస్తారు. తపో కామాక్షి, అంజనా కామాక్షి, స్వర్ణ కామాక్షి, ఉత్సవ కామాక్షి అనే మరో నాలుగు రూపాల్లో ఇక్కడ దేవి కొలువై ఉన్నారు. అమ్మవారికి పౌర్ణమి రోజున నవావర్ణ పూజ, ప్రతీ బుధవారం చందనకాపు పూజ (చందనాలంకారం), రోజూ మూడు సార్లు అభిషేకం నిర్వహిస్తారు. కుంకుమార్చన, దేవి అలంకరణ చేస్తారు.

🌸 నవరాత్రులను మూడు విభాలుగా విభజించి అమ్మవారిని పూజిస్తారు. మొదటి మూడు రోజులు దుర్గాదేవిని, తర్వాత మూడు రోజులు లక్ష్మీదేవిని, చివరి మూడు రోజులు సరస్వతీ దేవిని శాస్త్రోక్తంగా ఆరాధిస్తారు. ఆ స‌య‌మంలో కన్య(బాలిక), సుహాసిని(వివాహిత)పూజ‌ల‌ను విశేషంగా చేస్తారు. వీరిని పూజిస్తే అమ్మవారిని పూజించినట్లే అని భావిస్తారు. దేవీ నవరాత్రులలో ఏ కొత్త కార్యక్రమం మొదలుపెట్టినా అది విజయవంతం అవుతుందని భక్తుల ప్రగాఢ నమ్మకం.

🌸 గోవు, గజశాల..

ఆలయంలోని కుడివైపున గజరాజుల కోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా ఓ షెడ్డు ఉంది.ప్రతీ రోజు ఉదయం గోపూజ, గజపూజను ఉదయం 5 గంటలకు నిర్వహిస్తారు.

కాంచీపురానికి బస్సు, రైలు మార్గాల్లో చేరుకోవచ్చు.

🌸 బస్సు మార్గమైతే..

కాంచీపురానికి వెళ్లేందుకు ముందుగా కర్నూలు మీదుగా తిరుపతి చేరుకుని అక్కడ్నుంచి వెళ్లవచ్చు. తిరుపతి నుంచి కంచికి నేరుగా బస్సులు ఉన్నాయి. హైదరాబాద్‌ నుంచి నేరుగా చెన్నై వెళ్లి అక్కడ్నుంచి కోయంబేడ్‌ బస్‌స్టేషన్‌ నుంచి కంచికి బస్సులో వెళ్లవచ్చు.

🌸 రైలు మార్గంలో వెళ్లాలంటే.. కర్నూలు మీదుగా చెన్నై వెళ్లే కాచిగూడ ఎగ్మోర్‌ ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌, వారంలో ఒక్కసారి ఉండే స్పెషల్‌ ట్రైన్‌ ద్వారా వెళ్లొచ్చు. అరక్కోణం స్టేషన్‌లో దిగి అక్కడ్నుంచి కంచి వెళ్లాలి. లేదా నేరుగా చెన్నై వెళ్లి అక్కడ్నుంచి లోకల్‌ ట్రైన్‌ ద్వారా చేరుకోవచ్చు. మరోమార్గం తిరుపతికి నేరుగా ట్రైన్‌లో వెళ్లి అక్కడ్నుంచి పుదుచ్చేరి వెళ్లే రైలులో కంచికి వెళ్లొచ్చు.

🌸 The Kamakshi Devi temple which is shining as one of the eighteen Shaktipeetha is located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. The Shaktipeetha in Kanchi is called Nabhisthana Shaktipeetha. ' Ka ' means the form of Saraswati.. ' Ma ' is the form of Lakshmi Devi.. ' Akshi ' means eye. The full meaning of this is Ammavaru in Kanchi.. It is said that Saraswati Lakshmi lives with two eyes. To get the blessings of this Devi, the best way is to chant Lalitasahasranama. In the Kanchi of Devi, when he said to worship the idol of Shiva made of clay, then Shiva came in the form of Kambanadi with big waves. When the waves were increased to test the goddess, the goddess kept the statue in her two hands and saved her from the waves. 🌸 Kamakshi Devi Temple is known as Gayatri Mandapam. Here Ammavaru appears in three forms like Srikamakshi, Sribilahasam and Sri Chakram. The statue of the goddess in the temple has become like sitting on the padmasanam. Devi visits with her hands with Pasam, Ankusam, Flowers, Sugarcane. Devotees believe that if you visit the goddess in this form, you will get peace and prosperity.

🌸 As Ammavaru here is seeking sacrifice in a very fierce form.. Adishankaracharya says that he has conducted Sri Chakra to reduce Ammavaru's terror. Here that Sri Chakra will be worshiped. Another story has been published that Adishankaracharya has requested Ammavaru not to go to this temple premises and he who is in the Utsava Kamakshi premises will come out of the temple premises for the celebrations. This covela courtyard is very spacious and serene. Here every morning Srikamakshi Devi Utsavamurthy is awakened and offered offering offering and giving Harathi and bring Utsavamurthy into the temple in Pallaki as Pradakshina. After that, Gopuja will be done in front of Goddess. After that, they will remove the curtain at the door of Goddess and give Harathi. At that time, devotees can visit Goddess Vishwaroopa.

🌸 Kamakshi Devi is here in five forms. The goddess who is in the Gayatri hall is considered as the original goddess. The four walls in this hall are considered as four Vedas and 24 pillars are considered as the 24 letters of the Gayatri Mantra. Devi is here in four other forms like Tapo Kamakshi, Anjana Kamakshi, Swarna Kamakshi, Utsava Kamakshi. Navavarna pooja for Goddess on full moon day, every Wednesday Chandanakapu pooja (sandalwood), Abhishekam is performed three times a day. Kumkumarchana, Devi decoration will be done.

🌸 Navaratri is divided into three divisions and goddess is worshipped. First three days Durga Devi, then three days Lakshmi Devi, last three days Saraswati Devi will be worshipped in Shastrak. In that time, Virgo (girl), Suhasini (married) rituals are done specially. If you worship them, it is considered as worshiping Goddess. Devotees strongly believe that whatever new program is started in Devi Navaratri will be successful.

On the right side of the temple there is a shed specially for the gajarajas. Gopuja and Gajapuja will be conducted every morning at 5 am.

You can reach Kanchipuram by bus and train routes.

🌸 what if the bus route..

Before going to Kanchipuram, you can reach Tirupati through Kurnool and go from there. Direct buses are there from Tirupati to Kanchi. You can go directly from Hyderabad to Chennai and from Coimbed bus station to Kanchi by bus.

🌸 If you want to go by railway.. Kachiguda Egmore Express which goes to Chennai through Kurnool, you can go by special train once in a week. Should get down in Arakkonam station and go to Kanchi from there. Or you can go directly to Chennai and reach from there by local train. Another route is to Tirupati, you can go directly by train and from there to Puducherry to Kanchi.
